Stimac does it again !

India should have started the match with a lot of confidence in them but it was the coach who was poor in the confidence, not the players.

The starting formation was 4-1-4-1,  formation made it difficult for the players to adapt.

It was quite visible from the 1st minute of the match, as Rahim was left alone often.

Vikram had to cover a lot of the space and it was tiring with their defence in command.

No chance of crossing, made it difficult for us, on occasions there was some space otherwise, the tactics completely failed.

Still it was not looking poor and we were in command of the game, until the substitution of Vikram and the start if the defensive mode.

They were attacking well before too hut this substitution relieved their defence from the threat of quick counter.

This changed the whole game, attacks were made from the UAE side and it made Stimac to go further wrong z as he substituted a defensive midfielder for the defender.

Don't raise the eyebrows, we have see the worse.

Now, it was 5-3-2 formation but with only one striker and a winger cum striker, exhausted to do the the counter attack.

With no attacking midfielder, it was believing in the miracle only because it was a poor thing to do.

With this our players, giving up to the pressure, made mistakes and one such mistake costed us the penalty.

It was all done.

Where we went wrong?

Quite clear from the start of the match, the Choice to go with only one striker and wingers playing deep in to our own defence.

All it was up to the players to do something which is one in a thousand thing.

This gave UAE an added advantage as our attacks were not causing much of a threat.

It relieved them and their midfield became strong, with the 3-5-2 formation.

Going by the performance, our motive should have bee the win in this match.

Going for the draw with failed tactics, wrong substitutions costed us the match.

There is no one else to blame for this other the coach, Igor Stimac.

Now, it will down to the wire on the last matchday with a win and a lot of other factors should be in our favour.

Otherwise, it will be the repeat of the year 2019 without even reaching the final tournament.

With the past not favouring us, present needs to gel well with the future otherwise it will be another story of heart breaks.
