2026, 2030 world cups are beyond our reach!

The dream of qualifying for the FIFA world cup is ultimate.
The feeling is astonishing and the passion comes out in the form of tears.
But the reality is very different and it takes a lot more to achieve that target.
As India have never qualified for the same,
we fans wish to see it happen in coming years.

Mirage of 2026 world cup qualification!
The mirage is shown very much to the tired and thirsty souls of Indian football supporters.
The new coach have said it the multiple times, that we are building a base for 2026 world cup qualification.
Ultimately targetting the qualification.
4 years are left for that test, going by the current trend and the history, we will not qualify for that tournament.

Should target 2034 and work in the coming decade to complete the process.

Reasons we are behind and why we can qualify soon!
- League structure.
Our league structure is poorly placed.
With only 20 matches for a professional footballer and of which not every one gets to play all.
In 10 years, Indian players will play 200 matches only, while players in other countries will do that in 4-5 years.

Gap of 5-6 years easily in experience, learning and improvement.

-No grassroots program, development.
Only few professional clubs and academics are doing it rightly and organising it in the proper way.
Right from the 4-5 yrs age groups to the senior pros. Almost 13-15 years of learning.
Many Indian professionals never got this type of training and that's why we are poor on the ball.

For example, how many of our u17 world cup players are sure starters in the senior teams?
We can only name 6-7 which is also due to the 3+1 rule.
Otherwise many have lost in the hurdle, no proper learning and playing experience for 5 years in continuation.

Look at the players from other teams, 90 percent or even more are playing regularly.
30-40 matches in a season, in top leagues, lower divisions.
The growth is continuous but not in our case.

-Age group teams are assembled only for the sake but not  for performance!
Even after performing so well in the  u16 AFC Championship, federation is not continuing the same trend.
Rather there are no proper matches for them.
Latest example is the lost opportunity in CAFA organized tournament.
The gap is very visible.
Reserve league and 8 matches are not enough!
The one month league does not help either, the players from the reserve teams are either former world cup selectees or AFC championship representers.
800 minutes of football in the whole year leaves behind our players 4 times the world level.

-No place of the present in the future?
The ideal situation should always be to make our young fotball players better but here we are making them stay idle for whole year.
When their former opponents will be playing in the world cup, continental tournaments, club tournaments, they will be waiting for one month league to start.
This throws them in to the deep pit, from where only players like Sunil Chhetri have come out in time.

- Time to act not for essays!
The frustrating thing is that when federations of Japan and Korea are targeting world cup winning moments in the decentralised way.
We are expecting it to do in 4 years, with doing anything multifold than others.

The mockery of other Asian and better teams than us, which are preparing more for that one spot of the world cup qualification.
We are expecting that 9 spots will suffice us.

We have never qualified for the third round, where top 12 teams participate.
Here, we in dreams are thinking that we will finish amongst the top 9 teams.
Road is long, time is less!
We have to move in sync and utilise time better other wise we are on the the reverse time spin and our loss is multiple times more than the others.
Failing to organise it better is surely a loss but also the end with no where to go.

Let's hope all the stakeholders will see through the mirage and print the reality, otherwise laughs are only left few but mockery is unlimited in the market!
