ONE MATCH CAN'T DEFINE THE WHOLE LEAGUE BUT THE LOOPHOLES!
Yesterday, one loss was enough for Indian football fans to jump over ATKMB and the Indian Super League.
Due to adrenaline rush, everyone came to instant conclusion and post match comments from the team management including the coach added butter to the fire.
But, we need understand that one match can't define the standard of the league but can show the weaknesses.
Why ATKMB failed to execute plans!
- Inconsistency ! Yes, it is one of the major problem for any Indian Super League to perform well at the continental stage.
League ended in march, players went home, then came back for the AFC CUP preperation.
It hampers the continuity of the team preperation.
Bengaluru FC is the other team which suffered due to this.
Remember, they were in the I League when they qualified for the final of the AFC CUP in 2016.
Gokulam Kerala FC is still in the I League, benefiting from the league as it ended a week before the AFC cup.
It gave the team better consistency, plans could be executed well.
So, this shows that ISL needs to go for more months. Otherwise a bubble of goodness will only keep bursting from the pressure of it's PR once clashed with the reality.
2- The Dependency on foreign players to create and score is hurting ATKMB.
With Boumus absent, it lacked that and thus the chances were limited, once misssed, there was no going back.
While, GKFC had mix of the players with all contributing in attack as well as defense, giving them an advantage, and the score does reflect that !
3- Formation with incompatible players!
ATKMB used 3-5-2 formation, which is good only when your full backs helps you in overall process of attack and defense.
It made ATKMB vulnerable to the counter attacks and all the goals scored by GKFC were from the counter attacks.
We can see from the goals, that on 3 goals, there were only 2- defenders left for defending.A big weakness.
Bengaluru FC with 4-3-3 formation, caused the same problems for ATKMB!
Is I League better than ISL ?
One match can't decide it, if we go by the results I league teams have struggled against Isl teams too.
Bengaluru FC won against the strong East Bengal team in the Super Cup.
A solitary match is not a ideal benchmark to give the certificate to any league.
Only once they will compete against each other regularly from the next season onwards, then we will have the right to assess and crown any one of the league.
As Mumbai City FC won against the 4 times AFC Cup champions, it does not approve the fact that our league is better than the Iraqi league.
It only boosts our confidence that if we play our best, we can cause problems for any team.
This goes for GKFC too, the comments should have been avoided by the coach to simply compare RKFC and ATKMB.
Only, time will tell how things move ahead but one thing is clear, if ISL starts relegation and promotion, it will benefit the teams more.
The loopholes once addressed, you will see the strength on the paper and on the field match each other.
Also, let's not make fun of the fans, they have no role to play in the club's miseries.
Trolling them will only create the divide, and not everyday is good for all.
The revenge will start the cycle of toxicity, please don't add anything in to it.
