HOW WE CAN INCREASE THE MATCHES OF THE DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE?

Yesterday, Bengaluru football club, won the first development league, which was hosted by the Reliance!

There were only 7 number of games for the each team!

If we have to improve our players, we have to increase the number of matches!

How we can increase the number of matches?
There are different ways !
- Playing them on the same day where ISL senior teams will play.
As most of the players do travel with the teams to make up the proper squad, which is of 35 players.
Even if take 18 players for the main team, we are left with 17 more players, which can participate in the reserve league.

It will cut down the cost of organising, will give another match up for the grabs for the fans.
The stadium engagement will grow at the minimal added cost.
Clubs will get more players, who are match fit and can use them to better their results.

One match around 5 PM and the next 7:30 PM, thus both the reserve teams and the senior teams fighting on the same day!
Isn't it will be fun to watch?

2- We should organise the development league like this year but on the format of ISL. Thus adding more number of games and playing time for the players.

With, another tournament to show, it will only them to engage more people in respect to the highlights of the matches.
Live matches are always fun.
But the only and major problem is that the clubs will not release the players.
The numbers will not be good enough to make up the complete squad.
The main objective would fail and thus thid option is highly impossible.

3- Ask I league clubs to join the reserve league with their development squads and have it in the league format.
But to have it the sync between the clubs and the organization should be top notch.
It will benefit bot the players and clubs, as both of them will get their players scouted, swap deals, transfers and obviously the more game time.
The overall development of the team, transfer market and easy access to scouting platform.

This option can be used but league should start minding the gap and should be for atleast 4-5 months.
Only then it can benefit.

Options are enough but only if stakeholders have the vision.
As the main objective of the federation and the leagues is to develop the Indian football.
Thus to maximize the output, all needs to step up and think more about it.

With enough sources for the clubs, added advertisement can have positive impact.
Stadiums will be filled as people do prefer more in the less.
Burden of benching the players will not be there because everyone of them will either in the main sqaud or playing in the reserve league.

With clubs have to take up AFC licencing criteria, it would surely add to their system and benefit overall.
Whether it's I league club or ISL!

Win- win situation for everyone, let's see which model will be used by the federation and the league organising committees.

As the Indian football fans, we would only hope that heat on the bench will be less than the field.
As different players will get enough opportunities to spark!
