Bibiano has shown us the graph of success as a coach. He has led two batches to the AFC competitions and is now on the verge of making a hat trick of qualifications. He has guided different young players, from Vikram Pratap Singh to Neeraj Kumar become better players and attain a sense of the game and its principles.

We can see most of the players from the last two batches are playing in the senior team of their respective clubs.

 




Another batch, same results!

 Barring one match in which the u17 team played poorly against Nepal, this team has been solid from goal scoring to defense. 

India won SAFF Championship beating same Nepal, against whom the team was clueless before. 

 

Last time when we qualified for the AFC competition, it got cancelled out due to covid -19.

Perfect start to the qualifiers!

India is in group D, which consists of the teams like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Due to uneven groups, a lot depends upon the goal difference. The Indian team played brilliant from the start of the game and broke the strong defense with quick passing and diagonal balls.

A little bit more composure and it could have been a 10- 0 win against the 5-0.

Challenges ahead!

India will play Kuwait on 6 October, midnight IST. 

This match is crucial to maintain a healthy lead over the rivals. A win here will boost the team's chances of qualification. The game will be very tough, but India looks prepared for it.

What makes this team so special?

Yes, scouting was great, but the credit should go to the coach for transforming this to become better with each game. We can see the team play effective football which is soothing to the eyes.

 

- Building from the back and variation around it

This team is playing better because it plays according to the situation. And these variations are making the team make the best out of the opportunities and the chances.


- Passing through balls and attack from the wings.

This aspect of a team is very crucial. A three-dimensional attack always adds fluidity to the team. It helps the team to prepare different plans going into the game.

- Defending  as a team.

In the last game, this aspect was visible, though not in many instances. As soon as the other team countered, our midfield played its part by chasing the ball, and others occupied the box to stop attacks. It makes the team threatening and less prone to damage.

This team has everything, and having different goal scorers is one of them. It gives another dimension to the team which spontaneously makes it threatening even for the steady defense.



What to expect from the future?

Time will take its course, but Bibiano as a coach has established himself. It will not be wrong to say that he should be taking the charge of all the under-age group teams. It will help in maintaining the same philosophy across the age groups and which is crucial for Indian football.

One will wonder that a country like India often struggles to make an impact in the game of football. Even with a rich history in this game and commendable success till 90s we were never able to do something memorable even at the continental stage we are minions.
