India vs Vietnam Match Preview 

The Indian team will hope to bounce back from the poor outing in the last match. The team struggled to play passing football as there was no clear-cut plan. The players were playing solo. There was no connection between the midfield and front three. 


The lack of goal scoring and poor utilization was the reason for our loss. Yes, it was a loss due to us being the favorites in the game.

Why did India fail to perform? 

Thapa and Jeakson in the midfield tried to do too much. There was no connection between the players. 

Sahal played in the wrong position. Ashique and Liston were poor throughout the game. They never tried to cross and pass the ball to Sunil, who was in a better situation to score.


Roshan and Akash played poorly. They did make runs forward but never perfected their role of crossing and building chances. Roshan was not clinical with his passing and timely delivery.

Wrong team selection. Inform players like Chhangte should have started the game. Poor substitution made the situation worse.

 


What to expect in this match? 

The team lacked quality in the last game. There will change for sure.

Vietnam national team is a quality team, less physical but more organized. 

The starting 11 will impact the outcome of the game. If the coach can get it right, India will win this.

Defense

The addition of Sandesh and Sana is inevitable. The team should start with the best defenders available. It adds necessary height advantage during the set pieces.


Midfield 

Brandon with Sahal and Yasir in the midfield will add creativity and pace. We lacked this in the last match, and it will help in high pressing and chance creation 

 

Front 3

Chhangte, Sunil and Udanta for me should start. They both add strength and pace to the game. Along with Sunil, the impact of the crossing will increase double-fold.  



It will help us in 

- Crosses, we lacked those in the last game. Both Chhangte and Udanta are good while crossing. It gives strength to Roshan and Akash coming into the play.

- Midfield which can pass through balls and press. A midfield will help us in the transition, which will help in defense.

- Defense with a partnership of a ball playing and a defender who puts his body on the line. Both are aware of each other and can help while building from the back. Their height advantage in the corners will help us too.


How does Vietnam play?

They are a team of creative players. They pass to create chances and press high to maintain the pressure on the opposition. They are strong on the set pieces. 

They have players like Nguyen Quang Hai, 

Nguyễn Tiến Linh in the team . One is playing in France, and another one can play in different attacking positions,


They shift formations according to the opposition. 

It will be an interesting match-up between the midfield of the two teams.

 

Prediction:- India can win it if they play with all their quality, otherwise Vietnam is strong enough to break the defense down, at least for a goal.
